Stoffel Vandoorne Can Cement His Status as McLaren’s ‘Next 1’ at Bahrain GP

Stoffel Vandoorne made his much-anticipated Formula One debut on Friday, during free practice for the Bahrain Grand Prix. The 24-year-old McLaren reserve is a last-minute substitute for Fernando Alonso, who was injured in a high-speed crash in Melbourne, Australia, two weeks ago and ruled out of this weekend's race by the FIA following a medical examination. This isn't Vandoorne's first time in an F1 car; he has tested for McLaren, including at the Pirelli wet-tyre test in January. However, Friday marked his first time driving the team's 2016 challenger and his first time driving during an official grand prix weekend. Still, expectations are high for the young Belgian. He dominated the GP2 series last year, winning the championship by ...

Bahrain Grand Prix 2016 Qualifying: Results, Times from Friday’s F1 Practice

Friday's Formula One practice ahead of the Bahrain Grand Prix was all about Mercedes as team-mates Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton dominated the field. Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel struggled for pace during the first session and suffered a mechanical issue in the second, opening the door for McLaren's Jenson Button to race to the third-quickest time. Vettel wasn't the only one whose car let him down on Friday, as Romain Grosjean's Haas had to overcome multiple issues. Continue reading for a full recap of Friday's practice...

MotoGP Argentina Grand Prix 2016: Race Schedule, Live Stream and Top Riders

The twisting, technical test posed at the Autodromo Termas de Rio Hondo in Argentina should make for fascinating viewing this weekend, as the MotoGP season rolls into its second week. Still, there was little in the contest, with Andrea Dovizioso, Marc Marquez and team-mate Valentino Rossi all in touch with the Spaniard. Here is a reminder of how that one finished, per BT Sport MotoGP: The Argentina Grand Prix will pose a completely different kind of challenge to Qatar, with 14 corners set to offer a raw insight into the effect this season’s tyre changes will have on the riders. Formula 1’s Latest Rumours and Talk: Fernando Alonso, Renault and More

Fernando Alonso will miss a Formula One race for the second season in succession after being ruled out of this weekend's Bahrain Grand Prix. The two-time world champion survived one of the most spectacular accidents of modern times at the recent Australian GP, but despite walking away from the wreckage of his McLaren-Honda, the Spaniard has been declared unfit to compete at the Sakhir circuit. One driver's disappointment is another's opportunity, however, and Alonso's absence will see the highly rated Stoffel Vandoorne make his long-awaited F1 debut in Bahrain. When Alonso was last ruled out of a grand prix, Kevin Magnussen was the one chosen to replace him. But the Dane is now racing in the bright-yellow colour of Renault, who have returne...
