Power Ranking the Formula 1 Teams After 2016 Bahrain Grand Prix

Mercedes and Nico Rosberg cruised to an easy victory at the 2016 Formula One Bahrain Grand Prix. The German team and driver leave the Middle East with 100 per cent records and healthy leads in the championships, having won both of 2016's races so far. Ferrari were again the best of the rest; though Sebastian Vettel retired on the formation lap, Kimi Raikkonen had more than enough pace to finish second ahead of Lewis Hamilton's damaged Silver Arrow. Daniel Ricciardo was again fourth for Red Bull, while Haas and Romain Grosjean continued their incredible start to the season by crossing the line in fifth—just over two seconds clear of Toro Rosso's Max Verstappen. Further down the field, Mercedes customers Williams and Force India had dis...

Bahrain Grand Prix 2016: Winners and Losers from Sakhir Race

Nico Rosberg claimed his second victory of the 2016 Formula One season in Sunday's Bahrain Grand Prix at the Sakhir circuit. After starting from second on the grid, the German moved into the lead at the first corner and led almost throughout, claiming his fifth win in succession and extending his early lead at the top of the drivers' championship. The trials and tribulations endured by Lewis Hamilton, whom Valtteri Bottas hit at the first corner, and Sebastian Vettel, who failed to even start the race, made Rosberg's evening easier than it might otherwise have been, with Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen emerging as the Mercedes driver's biggest threat in the desert. On a day Romain Grosjean continued Haas' strong start to life in F1 and McLaren-Hon...

Red Bull and Haas Continue Surprising Form at Bahrain Grand Prix

Formula One is too predictable these days, right? That has been a common complaint over the last two-plus seasons of Mercedes domination. And that may be true at the top of the grid, which looks pretty much as expected so far in 2016: Mercedes are out in front, and Ferrari (when their cars are running) are a bit behind but clearly second-best. If you look at the constructors' standings following Sunday's Bahrain Grand Prix, though, there are a couple surprises just below those top teams. Red Bull, expected to struggle with their TAG Heuer-badged Renault engines, are third and debutants Haas, the first brand-new team in six years, are fifth. Given Red Bull's championship pedigree, Haas' performance is probably the bigger surprise. ...

NASCAR at Martinsville 2016 Results: Winner, Standings, Highlights and Reaction

All afternoon long, Kyle Busch owned Martinsville Speedway. He pushed his car to the front of the pack, built multisecond leads and appeared to be running away with an easy win Sunday.    Then a late caution put everything on hold. Luckily, Busch had the car to complete his dominant showing. The driver of the No. 18 Toyota Camry led 352 of the 500 laps in the 2016 STP 500, earning his first win of the season after a series of close calls. The defending Sprint Cup champion had four top-five finishes in the year's first five races but had finished no better than third before Sunday's action. At one point Busch was dominating the race to the point that Joe Gibbs Racing was posting memes: AJ Allmendinger came through with by far his ...

Bahrain F1 Grand Prix 2016 Results: Winner, Standings, Highlights, Reaction

Nico Rosberg cruised to victory at the Bahrain Grand Prix on Sunday with a commanding performance from the outset at the Bahrain International Circuit. World champion Lewis Hamilton started in pole position for the race, but he quickly found himself jostling with the pack and could only come through in third place. Kimi Raikkonen was left to fly the flag for Ferrari after Sebastian Vettel suffered engine failure in the formation lap, and he did so well by coming in second behind Rosberg. Here's a look at the final results from a dramatic race in the Middle East, per Formula 1: Hamilton was looking to make it three Bahrain Grand Prix victories in a row, but a collision on the very first corner with Valtteri Bottas put him on the back foot a...

A.J. Allmendinger, who ran consistently in the top 10 all afternoon and made a strong push for the lead in the closing laps after a late caution, came up just short and finished second. Kyle Larson, Austin Dillon and Bra...

Lewis Hamilton Shows His Class to Claim Pole Position at 2016 Bahrain Grand Prix

Come Saturday evening at the Australian Grand Prix, on a day Lewis Hamilton eased to his 50th career pole position despite a rule change intended to put an end to Mercedes' run of front-row lockouts, the final nails were being pounded into the coffin of Formula One's new, elimination-style qualifying format. Or so we thought, anyway. As you would expect of a regulation change confirmed less than a month until the start of a new season, the overhaul of qualifying—which gained the "unanimous" approval of the F1 Commission, per the FIA's official website—had failed spectacularly.  And for once, those within the paddock—notorious for their conflicting priorities and regular acts of selfishness—were in complete...
