NASCAR Sprint Cup at Homestead: Notes from Qualification

Carl Edwards made one small step towards winning his first NASCAR Sprint Cup championship during the qualifying run at Homestead-Miami Speedway. He grabbed his third pole of the season for the final race. As an added bonus, Edwards wins $100,000 for winning the most poles in 2011. After clearing more than $8,000,000 in 2011, this is probably the furthest award from his mind right now. His final opponent for the championship, Tony Stewart, did not perform as well.
