Clint Bowyer secured his ticket into Saturday night’s $1 million prize Sprint All-Star Race at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in Charlotte, North Carolina, winning the 40-lap Sprint Showdown on Friday night. Bowyer, who started the race in fourth position, snagged the lead from AJ Allmendinger on lap 19, just before the halftime break between the two 20-lap segments. He would go on to lead 17 of the 20 laps in the second segment and guarantee his entry into Saturday night’s main event.
