It was sad to find out that 24-year-old Italian MotoGP rider Marco Simoncelli passed away earlier today from injuries sustained on the course according to ESPN. In just the fourth minute of the race, which took place in Sepang, Malaysia, Simoncelli lost control and swerved across the track into the path of two other bikers: Colin Edwards from the US and Valentino Rossi, a fellow countryman. Edwards and Rossi got up immediately and seemed fine, but Simoncelli remained down with his helmet torn off. He was not moving.
