It Is Time To Junk The Chase and Totally Revamp The NASCAR Points System

When NASCAR decided a few years back to go to this current points system from the old one, it was partly to encourage winning and discourage "points racing."  It was also supposed to create parity in the sport. So, how is it working? Not too well. Jimmie Johnson has won a record four Sprint Cup Titles in a row. And it only took six years of Chase racing to do it. Where's the parity? What was supposed to keep more drivers in it until the last race, a re-shuffling of the deck with ten to go, has not worked out. Instead, Jimmie Johnson has dominated.
