May 29 will mark the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. There have been many noteworthy moments in the last 100 years of this historic race. From close finishes to memorable wrecks, the Indy 500 has long been at the center of the racing world alongside the Daytona 500. While securing a decent starting position in qualifying should normally make an impact, that hasn't been the case in the Indy 500.
