F1 Racing: Will New Points System Improve the Action?

As urged by numerous articles here on Bleacher and elsewhere, the FIA and the F1 teams have agreed to a adopt a new points system. That man Todt is really getting on with the job. Effective this year, assuming the World Motorsports Council rubber-stamps the proposal, the new scheme of point for places will be as follows: 1st = 25 points (previously 10) 2nd = 18 points (previously eight) 3rd = 15 points (previously six) 4th = 12 points (previously five) 5th = 10 (previously four) 6th = eight (previously three) 7th = six (previously two) 8th = four (previously one) 9th = two (previously zero) 10th = one (previously zero) At first consideration, I think I approve because it would seem to make places more worth fighting for.
