After a wonderful drive in the final qualifying session, Lewis Hamilton found himself on pole for the third time this Formula One season in Shanghai. Would he be able to convert it to another win? A smooth start saw him pull clear of the trouble behind, Williams' Felipe Massa tried a hugely risky manoeuvre cutting across the grid and into a collision with Sebastian Vettel. Hamilton's Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg also bumped Valtteri Bottas in the scrap for position at the first corner. What a start!
