Pocono To Shorten Both Sprint Cup Dates to 400 Miles Next Season

According to ESPN.com, Pocono Raceway is going to shorten both Sprint Cup races from 500 miles to 400 miles next season.That's a good thing for NASCAR and Pocono going forward.  The races around the 2.5 mile long oval were too long.  Shortening it by 100 miles will make the racing more exciting.Pocono Raceway is the exact same size as the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and the speedway's Brickyard 400 is 400 miles.Per ESPN, NASCAR also agrees with shortening the races and will back the move. The two Cup dates next year are June 10th and August 5th.Read more Motorsports news on BleacherReport.com...
