Barely has the dust settled on this year’s Formula One season than thoughts head into next year. With the engine regulations changing from 2.4-litre normally aspirated V8 engines to 1.6-litre turbocharged V6 units, the hard work is only just beginning, and teams will be working flat out during the offseason in their respective factories to get an advantage over their rivals. Much of the development work on next year’s cars would already have started during the previous year, but 2014 still presents an intriguing step into the unknown, and it is harder than ever to predict what is going to happen.
