Michelin set for 2014 return? Michelin is in talks with the FIA about becoming the official tyre supplier for 2014. Those were the rumours circulating in the Spa-Francorchamps paddock over the weekend, with Pirelli’s head of motorsport Paul Hembery describing the situation to the Daily Telegraph as “farcical.” Although Pirelli already has contracts in place with the majority of the teams on the grid for the 2014 season, it does not have a deal with the FIA. And following the manufacturer’s struggles this season it is thought that the FIA will put the supply deal up for tender.
